Knowledge Sucks – An Info Marketer’s Ultimate Weapon
Wow… you were suck in by the headline no
That’s why knowledge sucks ! lolz…
but wait… that’s not what this post is about.
But rather, the human anatomy on knowledge and how you can use it to your advantage… =)
Here’s a fact:
“The more you know, the more you don’t know…”
or… in any context that I would put it…
“The more you know… the more you wanna know…”
The human mind works in its thirst for knowledge, especially on something which it is interested in.
Fact is, we are always search for an answer to a problem… and solving that problem, gives you a bigger problem. Funny creatures we humans are.
But knowing this psychology behavior can actually, put you into a position to control what you want with your market.. and at the same time, improve yourself as a person… depending if you choose to accept its existence.
I’ll put this straight > Knowledge sucks you into places you never thought you’ll go… because of your thirst for knowledge.
Knowing this psychology behavior of humans, will give you… a clear advantage when it comes to marketing… especially info marketers.
When you look at direct response marketing at its finest, you’ll realize that it is in fact, a lead gen model… and one that is strongly infused with “The more you know, the more you don’t know element”.
Direct response is almost like, getting those people who are interested in those information aka product to put up their hands. In fact, one might even lose or at least try to break even at the front end.
So imagine what it could spin off if your information is so good but incomplete ?
Do you think you’ve create an itch that they want to scratch and want to find out more ? Obviously, this front end lead product needs to be a ‘WOW’ product because if the “FREE” ones are good… think about what they have for their premium product.
Its where the follow up and market positioning comes in… when your market doesn’t bite first. A constant stream of “incomplete” yet wonderful and applicable information is fed into them. First, you put yourself as the authority they are in contact with… you build trust and familiarity…
Then…. the psychological effects kicks in. The more you know… the more you don’t know…. or in this case.. the more you know… the more.. you wanna know.
When that happens, they would naturally look for you… instead of you begging for their attention.
There are many ways to craft a marketing funnel that best suit your business model aka product.. be it a B2B or B2C, you can always think along ways to trigger an itch that needs to be scratch…
Knowledge sucks… and the idea behind the whole theory is… how are you.. going to implant that little piece of “trigger” information inside your customer’s mind.
